Cavern Diver Training - Need to know

The TDI Cavern Diver Training is the start of your journey into diving within the overhead environment. The course is taught in either sidemount or backmount. The course will teach you preservation of a unique environment. We will teach you gas management, procedures for laying lines, and the use of reels. Furthermore, you will learn how to solve problems, specifically in an overhead environment.
The duration of this courses is performance based. Generally, 2 to 3 days.
If you are not already an experienced sidemount or backmount diver, you will have to learn this before starting you TDI Cavern Diver Training.
Cavern Course.
The TDI Cavern course is designed to develop the foundations for all overhead environment diving, all done still within the safety of the sunlight zone.
Subjects covered will be proper planning,procedures techniques and hazards of cavern diving.
Prerequisites
Minimum age of 18.
At least and SDI Open Water Diver or equivalent with 25 dives or more.
Elearning can be done before the course commences, saving time during the course.
Average duration is 2 to 3 days.
The course can be combined with TDI Intro to Cave course, usually a total of 5 days.
Full Cave Diving equipment will be used, either double tanks or preferably Sidemount.
Course content.
Policy of Cavern Diving.
Gas management procedures.
Psychological considerations of overhead environment diving.
Equipment considerations, tank options, doubles or Sidemount, regulator options and hose routing, harness and wing options,.
Communication, light, hand and passive.
Proper weighting
Swimming techniques, body posture/trim buoyancy control, finning and guide line following.
Breathing techniques and Stress management
Cavern environment and conservation.
Problem solving,emergency procedures and equipment failures.
Accident analysis
Cavern diving etiquette
Review of decompression theory.
Skills you will demonstrate
1 How to lay a guide line.
2,How to use line markers.
3,How to use a guide line with and without visibility.
4,How to gas share with a partner following a guide line.
5,How to gas share with a partner in zero visibility while in touch contact.
6,How to remove and exchange to a backup mask in zero visibility while in contact with a guide line.
7,How use back referencing, awareness and cave conservation techniques,
8,How to use light and hand signals.
9,How to use anti silting techniques through proper use of buoyancy,trim and finning.
10,How to switch to a backup light in case of a primary light failure.
11,How to prepare for a dive with correct procedures regarding equipment matching and diving planning.
